Welcome to the Lodge, GBU Family!
Fraternal Fantasy is a hilarious party trading card game where GBU colleagues become superheroes in the Secret Order of the Cake. Use Insights Profile colors (🟡 Yellow/Fun, 🟢 Green/Empathy, 🔵 Blue/Order, 🔴 Red/Doing) to power whimsical Powers like dance parties, RPS battles, and monkey wrenches. Battle in the shared Battle Row, block with Toughness, and win by zapping Life to 0.

Card Anatomy (Beginner Breakdown)
Character Card Example (Jen Stockdale)

- Orbs: Personality order. Dominant (left) gives summon bonus & Power color match.
- Cost: Energy to summon (left #).
- Toughness: Blocks damage (right #). Total Row Toughness defends Life.
- T: Talents: 3 traits – yell 1/turn for "inspiration" (+1 to minigames/Powers via group vote).
- P: # Orb: Power cost (pay # any Energy; match orb = -1). Tap after use.
- Dept.: Synergy with Alliances (e.g., +Toughness).
Energy: Tap to pay (any color works!).
Alliance: Play once for team buffs.
Setup (2 Min)
- Decks: Shuffle into 40+ card piles (split pack for quick play).
- Life: 20 tokens each (cap at 20).
- Hands: Draw 7. Mulligan once (reshuffle & draw 6).
- Energy: 1 random each in your zone.
- Battle Row: Empty middle table (max 5/side).

Your Turn (5 Steps – No Attacks Turn 1!)
- Untap: Straighten ALL your tapped cards/Energy (opponent waits).
- Energy Phase: Draw 1 Energy to zone (deck out = lose). Play any from hand (unlimited).
- Summon: Play 1 Character – pay Cost (any Energy combo).
- Dominant Bonus: ≥50% payment in left orb color = Cost -1 (min 1).
- E.g., Jen Cost 4 🟡: 4 any = OK; 2+ Yellow = pay 3! Place in YOUR Row side.
- Power Phase: Activate 1 untapped Row Character.
- Yell Talent for inspiration (+1 via vote).
- Pay P# (orb match -1). Declare target (per table). Resolve! Tap Character.
- Alliance: Play 1 (once/game).
- End: Draw 1 card (hand max 8, discard excess).
Tapped = Sideways: Can't use until your next Untap.
Power Resolution (Damage, Targets, Defense)
Always: Tap Character + pay P#. Announce target. Resolve instantly.
Damage Flow:
- Hits target's Row Toughness total first (subtract evenly).
- Leftover → their Life tokens.
- Row empty? Straight to Life.
- Character Toughness 0? Discard.
Healing: To your Life (+tokens, cap 20).
Defense:
- Passive: Row Toughness.
- Active: Powers like Mary's +2 Toughness, Stacey's erase.
- Minigames: Bypass Toughness (direct Life/turn skip).
- No interrupts – fast fun!


CE = Community Engagement. Orbs: Match ≥50% payment = P# -1.
Minigames: Judge fairly – 10-30s max!
Synergies:
- 3+ same Dept. = +1 Toughness all.
- Cake icons: Group cheer = +1 Life all!
Winning
- Life to 0 or deck out.
- Multiplayer: Last standing (free-for-all or teams).
- Party Tiebreaker: Most Life + fun votes → RPS.
